The Word of God |

Today, I want to invite you to reflect on the prayer we can pray based on an excerpt from the Bible. The words of Sacred Scripture were not written to remain trapped on paper, but to be received by a person who prays, making them emerge in their own heart. Not just any reading, as we do with books, but the reading of Holy Scripture must be accompanied by prayer so that dialogue with God is possible.

There is an experience that happens to all those who believe: a passage of Scripture, heard many times, suddenly one day speaks directly to me and illuminates a situation I am experiencing.

Every day God passes by and sows a seed in the soil of our lives. We don’t know if today you will find arid land or fertile land that will grow this seed. It depends on us, on our prayer, on the open heart with which we approach the Scriptures so that they can become the living Word of God for us.

Through prayer a new incarnation of the Word takes place. And we are the “tabernacles” where God’s words want to be received and kept, to be able to visit the world. For this reason, we must approach the Bible without ulterior motives, without using it as an instrument.

Therefore, we read the Scriptures so that they “read us.” And it’s fun to be able to recognize yourself in a character or situation. The Bible is not written for a generic humanity, but for us, for me and for you.

The Word of God, impregnated with the Holy Spirit, when received with an open heart, does not leave situations as they were before, it always changes something. And this is the grace and strength of the Word of God.
