‘To you who gave me your life, your love and your space’… Mother’s Day has arrived and, with it, some people are preparing to celebrate moms this May 10th.
Although it is not considered a mandatory day of holiday within the Federal Labor Law (LFT) some companies and public entities give this date to working mothers so that they can celebrate in the company of their families.
These institutions were joined by the Federal Educational Authority in Mexico City (AEFCM) who announced that working mothers in public schools in the capital will be able to rest this Friday, May 10.
“In recognition of your effort, enthusiasm and dedication, and as a sign of gratitude for your invaluable daily contribution to the Educational System of this city, we are pleased to inform you that in response to the requests of the union representations, this Deconcentrated Body has determined grant working mothers May 10, 2024 as a day off. We extend great congratulations and our deepest admiration to all of you on your day,” the agency detailed in a statement.
Will there be classes on May 10, 2024?
In accordance with what was stated in the school calendar of the Ministry of Education Public (SEP) May 10 is not marked as a “Suspension of teaching duties” day or as a holidaywhich is why it is expected that academic activities will be carried out normally in the classrooms.
Even so, it is common for some institutions to decide that after the celebrations, minors can go home with their mothers, or they leave it up to the parents’ discretion. But officially, On May 10 there are classes for basic education students in Mexico.
