April began with two weeks of wet, cold and snowy conditions that kept a lot of WPIAL baseball and softball teams indoors.

However, you blink in April and the weather can change very quickly. Thus Mother Nature has been kind the last two weeks, allowing for plenty of district teams to hit the diamonds and begin the catch-up process on their section schedule.

A lot of action has helped many of the top teams, but it also has led to some changes in the weekly Trib 10 power rankings.

Some teams lost and slipped down the rankings while other fell to defeat once or twice this past week and were knocked out (for the time being, perhaps) of the Trib 10.

Class 6A baseball teams Hempfield and North Allegheny dropped out, replaced by Mt. Lebanon and Mohawk.

On the softball side, Trinty and Southmoreland were bounced, opening the door for North Hills and Hampton.

At the top, it still remains Riverside No. 1 in baseball and Seneca Valley at the head of the table in softball.

Here are the latest power rankings. Teams are listed with overall record and last week’s ranking. These weekly rankings have zero classification boundaries.
