Araruama – This Friday (19), Araruama City Hall, through the Health and Public Works Departments, will promote another action in the campaign to combat dengue in the municipality. This time, D-Day will be held in two locations, taking into account the proximity of the locations, taking place in the XV de Novembro and Nazaré neighborhoods, from 9 am to 4 pm.

The joint action includes visits by health agents to local residences, offering guidance to residents on measures to combat the disease. Aedes aegyptimosquito that transmits the disease.

The health team checks and helps eliminate possible breeding sites, such as tires, gutters, plates used to support plants and other objects that can accumulate stagnant water. In places where there are already mosquito outbreaks and larvae, spraying with insecticides is carried out.

Professionals from the Public Works Department carry out cleaning work and remove rubbish and rubbish from backyards, which can also become breeding grounds for Aedes aegypti.

It is important to highlight that, in addition to dengue, the mosquito also transmits chikungunya and zika, making it essential that there is awareness and collaboration between the population and public authorities to minimize the occurrence of cases.
