The next Erie victim advocate training academy will begin in April, where volunteers can provide support for people impacted by crime or tragedy.
Volunteer victim advocates work as a liaison between the victim and law enforcement immediately after an incident. The training academy will cover intervention techniques, active listening, victimology, victim rights, criminal justice information and more.
Applications to join the academy are due by March 31 and are available at tinyurl.com/ErieAdvocateApplication.
