Daiveon Taylor, one of the WPIAL’s top football recruits in the 2026 class, committed Saturday to West Virginia.
The sophomore recently transferred from Bishop Canevin to Aliquippa. He was in Morgantown for the Mountaineers’ spring game and announced his college commitment on social media.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound outside linebacker was rated by Rivals.com as a three-star prospect. He also had offers from Pitt, Penn State, Bowling Green, Marshall, Miami (Ohio) and Syracuse.
Taylor earned all-conference honors at defensive end for Bishop Canevin last season, which went 10-2 and reached the WPIAL Class A semifinals.
